What to Expect
A clear, guided process designed to make estate planning feel manageable, supportive, and transparent from start to finish.
Estate planning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or confusing.
Our process is designed to be clear, collaborative, and respectful of your time, values, and questions.
From your first conversation through final signing, we guide you step by step- explaining your options, answering questions along the way, and making sure you feel confident in the decisions you’re making.
THE PROCESS
01. Pathways Planning Session
Your journey begins with a virtual Pathways Planning Session. You will fill out a family profile via our secure, online portal before we meet so we can make the best of our time and so I can properly advise you as to your options.
The Session itself is a guided conversation designed to get to know each other, ask questions, and understand your options.
During this session, we’ll:
Review the estate planning process
Talk through your goals, family, and priorities
Explain how different planning tools work
Discuss our flat fees structure and next steps, which would include signing an engagement letter and receiving and paying invoice.
There is no pressure and no obligation. This session is about education, clarity, and determining the best path forward for you. If we decide we are a good fit to work together, we will discuss next steps.
Either way, you’ll leave our session clearer than ever before about what you really need (and really don’t need!) to protect your family and assets.
02. Estate Plan Design Meeting
If we decide to move forward together, we’ll schedule a virtual Estate Plan Design Meeting.
This is where we roll up our sleeves and begin designing your estate plan in detail. Together, we’ll walk through your choices carefully, making sure everything aligns with your wishes and values.
Nothing is final at this stage. You’ll receive a clear summary of the plan design and have the opportunity to review and refine it before drafting begins.
03. Drafting & Review
After the design meeting, we carefully draft your estate planning documents. This process typically takes 2–3 weeks.
Once your draft is ready, you’ll receive:
A copy of your estate planning documents
A short video explaining the key sections and decisions
You’ll have time to review everything and ask questions.
If adjustments are needed, we’ll make them before moving forward.
04. Signing Ceremony
Your in-person Signing Ceremony is where you will sign your documents with the required legal formalities, in front of two witnesses and a notary.
We provide a notary, and you have the option of providing two disinterested witnesses or we can also provide witnesses for an additional fee.
05. Binder Delivery & Next Steps
After signing, we prepare your Estate Planning Binder, which includes your signed documents.
You’ll also receive digital copies for your records.
If your plan includes a Revocable Living Trust, we’ll provide instructions to guide you through the next steps for funding the trust so your plan works as intended.
Your binder typically arrives about 10 days after your Signing Ceremony.
From there, we will be available to provide any additional planning updates or additional needs that you may have.
Throughout the process, we’re here to support you.
We believe estate planning works best when clients feel informed, respected, and able to make decisions confidently. Questions are always welcome, and we take the time to explain not just what you’re doing, but why.
Our goal is for you to leave the process feeling confident, prepared, and at ease.
