Welcome to Fern Haven Estate Planning!

I’m Jen, the founder of Fern Haven Estate Planning.

Estate planning is personal. It touches the people you love, the life you’ve built, and the values you want to carry forward. I work with individuals and families who want a clear, thoughtful estate plan- built with care and personalized for each client.

My goal is to guide you step by step, explain your options clearly, and help you make confident decisions at every stage.

Why “Fern Haven?”

Fern Haven reflects how I practice: a calm, guided pathway forward. Ferns symbolize shelter and steady growth- exactly the environment I aim to create for clients making important decisions.

You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. We’ll map it together.

A Calmer Way to Plan

At Fern Haven, estate planning isn’t a transaction. It’s a process of understanding your goals, your family dynamics, and what matters most to you— so your plan reflects your values and works the way you intend.

I believe good estate planning should feel:

  • Clear and understandable

  • Supportive and steady

  • Personal and purposeful

Whether you’re planning for young children, navigating a blended family, caring for aging parents, or simply ready to put a plan in place, my goal is the same: you leave with a plan you understand and peace of mind that it’s been done well.

How I Support You

My approach is structured without skipping the clarity that good decisions require.

Most clients begin with a Fern Haven Pathway Planning Session, where we:

  • clarify your goals and priorities

  • identify the right planning tools (will, trust, incapacity planning, guardianship, etc.)

  • outline next steps so you understand the process for getting to your signed estate plan

From there, if we agree we are a good fit to work together, I design your plan and I guide you through the review and signing of your plan.

Many plans can be completed in approximately 6-8 weeks, depending on complexity, responsiveness, and how quickly we can schedule signing.

Convenience

Fern Haven’s sessions and meeting are generally done virtually. This is usually more convenient for busy individuals and families who have work and family obligations. If you prefer in-person meetings, those decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. Signing ceremonies are always in person.

Who I Work With

I work with people who:

  • want to protect their family and plan ahead

  • value clear communication and thoughtful guidance

  • want to understand their choices- not just sign documents

Many of my clients are busy professionals, parents, and individuals who want an estate plan that fits real life- thoughtfully designed, not just “checked off.”

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

Estate planning doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right guidance, it can feel steady, empowering, and even relieving.

If you’re ready to take the first step, I’d be honored to guide you through it.
